- e30 wont start
-
I haven't resolved it yet. I am seriously lacking in time, so I haven't done much, but here's the latest:
I, too, jumped 30 and 87 and the fuel pump jumped into action. I didn't do the volume test though, which I will do soon.
Now...I had spark before--but it wasn't a blue spark like people say it should be...it was orange. I attributed this to my using a screwdriver rather than a spark plug, but I think that may have been hinting at something because now the car has no spark.
BUT... this may be because I messed up the main relay (right?) somehow while cleaning it (when I thought it was the fuel relay). So I have a lot of testing to do... =/
I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

Quick Test for Fuel Pump Failure...Easy , Fast and Simple
I ran a car lot for a long time. I would get cars that wouldn't start and about half the time it was the fuel pump.
Easy Peasy Test...
1) Put some gas in a spray bottle
2) Open intake /take off intake collar
3) Spray some gas in there...doesn't have to be much
4) Try starting car...if it starts then dies 99% chance pump is bad.
PS Changing the fuel pump in the E30 is a breeze.
Back seat comes out easily.
Pump is just screwed into place..basically a take it out/put it back in thing
I"m sure there are some decent videos on you tube.
But...really...it's very easy. And they don't cost a lot.
