It could be a stuck thermostat, low coolant, or any of several other problems. You can pull the thermostat and test it to see if it opens and at the right temperature.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

How do I test the thermostat? Where is it located at?

Not a knock on you or anything, but from the sound of it, you shouldn't be the one testing it. Take it to someone that knows what to look for. Overheating problems can be tricky, and are not really the type of repair you want to try to DIY when it's your first time working on a car.
