Yes great deal - Go buy the car now!
Ok deal but you could find a better price.
Maybe - buy it only if you really want the 740il
NO don't waste the $50,000 & keep the '96 328i
I currently have a '96 328i that I put some $$ into about 2 years ago to fix up. (I put some Einbach springs, Bilstein Shocks, new intake, Clear turn lights, and new z rated tires) I love my 328i and I am reluctant to sell my car for only $10,000 (going rate). However, I could use the larger car for my family. I have always dreamed about a 740i or 740il.
I just found a 2001 Black/Tan 740il with a sports package on it. It only has 19,800 miles on it. Included is premium sound and the smaller GPS navigation system. It is on sale from a local dealer and includes an extended 100,000 mile warrantee. The test drive was smooth, the car is spotless, and the car fax history report is clean. Washed out photo is attached.
The asking price is $45,000.
Please give me your opinions:
Is this a reasonable deal?
Is the 3 to 7 series upgrade worth the $50,000 - once taxes, licencing and insurance are included?

The 3 series to 7 series question is one that you need to answer personally based on your needs, family size, etc. However, that is an early build 2001 since it has the 4:3 nav screen and not the 16:9 widescreen, so I think you should try to get a better price, maybe closer to $40K. Take a look on eBay to see what the general closing prices are as a frame of reference, I listed a couple links below.
By the way the GPS/Nav and premium sound were standard on the 2001's so don't let them try to say the car is worth more because of that. Good luck with your purchase.

Sounds like a great car. Deal seems "reasonable" considering the low mileage and CPO, but I think you can do a bit better on price, 40-42K perhaps. CPO is valiable because you get 80K/6yrs on the warranty. Good luck...
