Brake light still on after installing new pads and sensor???

I installed new rotors, pads and sensors on a buddies '02 530i today and the brake light is still on. He wore the old pads down to almost nothing so the light had been on for a long time. I thought that replacing the sensor would allow the lights to reset themselves, but I must be wrong. How do I get the lights to reset? Thanks!

Turn the key on to position 2 for 15-20 seconds it should go off.

If leaving the key in position two for 15 seconds or so doesn't do it,check to make sure the sensor wires on the other brakes aren't frayed or the sheathing worn through or anything of that nature.

This is not necessary to get the brake pad light to go off.

you need to reset it. Dont remember if its in one of the insturment test or not. I only know how to do it with a GT1. I know they make the scanners/tool to reset it by hooking it up to the OBD connecter
