Question about door chime (gong)

Where is the door chime. I want to hook mine up. This is the 3rd time I have left my parking lights on and then had to jump start my battery.

It is directly under the steering column on the bottom panel of the dash. (right above your shins.)

Yeah, I sold mine to someone on Ebay about 3 days after I got the car.

ok... I looked under the steering column and did not find anything. I guess becuse it was removed... =) Anyone have any pics of what I am looking for so that I can install a new one. I am thinking that I could possibly alter the sound so that is not as annoying...

Could be interesting.. I hate jump starting the car...

look at the knee bolster when it's installed... near where your left knee would be are holes in it.. that's where it is, clipped onto the back of the knee bolster

i dunno about altering the sound... not unless u know alot about electronic sound device thingies

is it the little black button thing? how do i connect it and everything? I have also done this like 3 times, and it is even worse for me because the stupid PO's alarm interrupts with the starter so i have to have the alarm remote (which is broken so i can't have it on my key ring) to get the car started..

ok, wanna find the door gong? do this... go where i told you in the post above and put your keys in to make it chime... and FOLLOW YOUR EARS!!! when you drop down the knee bolster, it's the only [plastic black box attached to it w/ clips!!!

My problem is that mine was removed.. I guess I will have to find a used one. (anyone want to send me their old one... hint, hint, wink, wink, ) I,ll pay for shipping.... or better yet if your in Atlanta, maybe a meet and greet with some Atlanta people would be cool....

bmw z3 2.8 door open, key out of ignition, chimes continually unless door is shut or door latch chime button is pushed closed. ......how do i silence the chime upon exit with the drivers door open?
