So thanks to the outstanding service provided by tirerack i now have my tires alot earlier than expected. I got some Bf Goodrich G-forces and they look absolutely fantastic and super aggresive.
Well on to the question I have:
F: 225/35/18
R: 245/35/18
I know this is a common set-up blah blah blah
I have my eyes set on this set of wheels, rota d2's to be exact, which are only available in 5x100 or 5x114.3. And looking at the staggard pckg: F 18x8.5, R 18x9.
First question: How skinny can an adapter be made for these to fit 5x120?
If so where do I get them?
IMPORTANT: The rims are only available in a 30 or 48 offset at the shop I'm getting them from.
Second Question: Which offset do i go for out of these two?
Third question: If I end up getting them re-drilled will the 30 offset work in the rear? And what about the fronts?

I think the smallest the adapters can be made is 10mm to be hub centric to the car & wheel, but I'm not a 100% about that.
If you go for the 48 offset & use the 10mm hubcentric adapter, it would bring the offset to 38 and it would be perfect.
You can use the 30 offset also & redrill, but I think it might be a little aggressive for the front, and the rear you might have to roll the fenders.
is anyone else sure on this?

NO!!! Dont do it.
The smallest adaptors you should run are 20mm (maybe 18mm) that are safe. I had 20mm's on my old MK2 VW back in the day and it was fun.
That would increase the backspacing by 20mm (SPACERS DONT CHANGE OFFSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Get the 48mm ones and you will be fine.

So, I should go for et48 all around, and run the 20mm adapters?

I don't understand why you would go to all this trouble for the D2, there are many better looking wheels that are made in the correct fitment.
Not a fan of spacers and adapter. Here in Australia they are in fact illegal for street use.

The smallest adapter is a 20mm, and even then you have to have space in the wheel you are using that will bury the lug nuts that hold the spacer to your hub.
The spacer does change your offset. If you start with a 48mm offset and you put the 20mm adapter in, it changes your offset to 28mm. That is really agressive for a e36 car on a 8.5" wide. You must consider width and offset (both affect front and back spacing).
Also to note, a wheel spacer decreases your backspacing. I put porsche Cayenne turbo wheels on my wifes Volvo XC90 suv, I was shooting for a 40mm offset on a 9" wheel, the porsche wheels were 60mm which allowed space for the spacers/adapters of 20mm. The porsche wheels had indentation between the lug holes on the back side that allowed the spacer to be thinner because the lug nuts could "hide" in those indentations and protrude out past the surface of the spacer. Without that design of wheel, the spacers have to be a least 25mm thick to change bolt patters. That would make your application a no go.
Note: make sure that the spacers and hubcentric to your car and the wheels you are putting them on, otherwise, you will wich you didn't bother.
Another thing. Good wheel adapters are going to cost at least $250. I purchased mine on ebay. His name is JR and he has a great reputation and builds a proper product. Here is one of his current auctions:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel...QQcmdZViewItem
Did you ever end up doing this?
I will always opt to redrill the wheels rather than run adapters which aren’t as reliable as direct contact to the wheels themselves
