    '02 330iC sport vs. '99 323is

Ok....so i have this friend who's mom owns a 330iC sport w/steptronic, and he get's it for the night of cruising. This has been a long anticipated encounter for me in the ole 323is

So as we leave the hot spot (wendy's lol) we both know we're gonna go for it. Me not having any clue of the outcome. we slow to 40 mph and go. I hit the top of 2nd and quickly into third as he drops back 2 cl's. all the way through 3rd i still pull. Really good feeling considering he had his gf in the car overall i win that one by 3 cl's.

2nd race...he says he wants me from a stop and acts like he has the advantage . I say alright so we go from a stop and Bam!@ im out in front again...end of 1st...still pulling...2nd..still pulling...and we shut it down around 70mph. This time it was worse..i easily pulled from the 330iC and enjoyed being blinded by those HID's in the rearview

    ok..thats it

    your comments?

    maybe a 5spd 330 would be a better match?

    thanks guys

A speed 330i/CI will prove more than a match for the stock 323is, but I am not surprised that you easily bested a convertible.

Convertible's are heavy. So was his girlfriend probably

Oh yah, not to mention he has 12% less power due to his automatic transmission.

    Hey CMT

Is that pic PS? Otherwise, those motosport II wheels look like 19s or 20s on your car.

Nice. I also use to have a 323IS. They are surprisingly decent in acceleration.

3rd doesnt really seem to die to much to me?? accept of course at around 5500 rpms. which i would guess is normal. I love mine though. awesome car. I love 1st gear, second pulls late, but hard. overall she's quick. I haven't lost to many cars in my category..glad to see another 323is!!

    thanks

and MMJ4mil-- we'll just have to see about that ...what do you have done other than the 19's?? and is yours an auto/step?
