    Exclamation The Ultimate Pre-release 128i and 135i thread

    I figured I would take the information that is available at the moment and post it here so it's all in one place. Hopefully this will keep the reposts to a minimum.

    Updated 12.16.2007 with ED Pricing Information
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    On Sale March 22, 2008

    *128i coupe MSRP $28,600
    *135i coupe MSRP $34,900

    *Destination and Handling adds $775 to the above prices

    Official US Brochure/Ordering Information:

    *It should be noted that the vehicle weights listed in the catalog are apparently typos. The given weight for the 135i is listed as 3732 for the manual and 3384 for the automatic. That's a 348 pound advantage for the automatic. The weights will be as follows per BMWNA:

    Unladen weights for manual and (automatic):

    * 128i: 3252 (3329)

    * 135i: 3372 (3384)

    The car configuartor is not up yet. Once it is I will update the main post with the information. The configurator was supposed to go live last week, but here we sit. BMW said it will be up "sometime this fall." December 21 is the first day of winter so we could be waiting until December 20 realistically.

    The BMW USA web site now permits configuring the convertible, in addition to the coupe.

    do they offer the hardtop convertible (ala 335 and new M3) as an option with the 135 ??

    I understand the motivation to de-content and save weight with the smaller motor; the TT 3.0L in the 135/335/535 has more than enough juice to make it worth the squeeze.

    Anyone know if this is a "coming enhancement" ??
    I've driven the 335 vert and its a great ride.

    Exact date to place a factory order

    What is the first day I can place a factory order (for Euro delivery) for a 128i coupe? Related to that, what's the last day I can factory order a 2011 128? Is there a gap while they rest the production line, or anything like that?
