Oil pan gasket replacement. What's needed?

I will do a oil pan gasket replacement to cure my oil leak. I checked the Bentley and it seems that I can do it myself.

    Any advices before starting?

Should I use a gasket sealer? If yes, which one do you use? I think I still have a tube of Yamabond. Can I use it on a cork gasket?

I am gonna stay tuned to this. I was informed at my last oil change that I am missing two oil pan bolts.

I am currently awaiting them to arrive from Germany.

I started the oil pan replacement and I need some advice about lifting the engine. Do you do it from above or from below.

If from above, where is located the rear engine lifting point?

If from below, where do you put the jack? Under the A/C bracket?

    Thanks

The paper gasket is preferred over the cork if you are going to do this. I paid to $350 to have this done. I didn't have the tools and didn't want to risk lifting the engine myself.

lift from above with proper lift bar. you need to get it up high to clear the cross member. Replace motor mounts while you have it up.

It may have just a bit less than that. I had my own gasket, which was maybe a $10 part because I planned on doing it myself but in the end, I didn't feel comfortable lifting the engine to remove the crossbar.

I use black RTV sealant for the gasket. As far as lifting the motor you should do motor mounts or with a crane there should be two O tabs on on the rear of the block on the block itself one on the head by where the end of the cam would be around. that area the front.
