it is for the rear because its so easy. the front is very difficult so its more popular to do only the rear.

    (Prd. 5/96) 528i.
Before taking on the job and effort installing the M5 sway bar. To those who have the non-sport or even sport models hows the ride difference? I would think since you're adding the thicker bar in the rear suspension the front would feel off? The balance would be off. Even the earliest E39's didn't have rear sway bars...

Reviving this thoughtful and cost conscious DIY for all us non-M5 drivers that have aftermarket /upgraded suspension..shock/struts...etc...

I'm about to put on rear endlinks and finish off the Bilstein PSS+wishbone+guidelink trifecta.....and found a used M5 sway avail...hummm...if previous reports are half correct, this $100 ish mod should add some thrill to the driving experience...again, my 96 Euro 528 M52 isn't doing HPDEs or canyon carving..or going over 120kph here in Japan..
but WTH... any other success/fail stories out there before I pull the trigger? Drive safely- Mark

Get some polyeruthane bushings for it, it will make the bar more effective. The OE rubber bushing are too soft.

Actually for those 528, 525, 530 applications I would recommend going with front and rear bars from EIBACH ANTI-ROLL-KIT as this would give a user flatter cornering and better lane change control. The Dinan bar is 250 from Tire Rack and the set up is $325
    Bars
Bar diameter 27mmF & 18mmR. Front bar is adjustable
