Grab a resistor an put an LED on the 12v circuit for your pump - no more guess work as to whether the pump is getting power or not. if its a fuse on the pump, simply do the same thing, except access the pads for the fuse.

Great idea. The only issue I see is it is possible for the pump to be getting power but not moving any fluid.

sometimes. I regret having it installed incorectly, and service is an order of magnitude more complicated.

If I could have all the money back, I'd take it.

But I enjoy it a lot when everything is working.

Just wanted to add this to my subscribed threads... I think my intake gasket went out again... Going to use the better one next time.

I have not driven my TS pretty much since December when I got my New M coupe. Oh and it needs a Clutch, Brakes, and tires, rear shock mounts... better sussy... another reason it has just been parked

The people running the smaller pulleys did you need to change out the belt size? Or does the tensioner take up enough of the slack?

Josh did not have me change the belt size,
but it was based on my Eurosport underdrive pulley set.

The replacement (sturdier) intake gasket referenced
in post #1 is the Schrick M52 manifold gasket?

I ask because the link has moved.

Correct on Schrick. Not sure about M52. It is an intake manifold gasket for an e36 M3, and it costs about $24.

    It is much beefier.

thanks Johno for starting this write-up.
my problem was a combination of a loose/broken resistor in the yellow wire for the maf AND a collapsing isc hose(both 1 and 6 in. hose) behind the TS unit as suggested by jmc(Joe).
car is all good now-no cels or idle issues!
    thanks guys

BTW: fixed the collapsing hose issue with 1/4 in. pvc pipe cut to length and shoved with in the hoses.....

Thanks. It's interesting to see the common ground on TS trouble as we do the long-term R&D testing for the manufacturers.

    Common problems seem to be:

    • Blown water pump fuses
    • Paper intake gasket
    • Fuel pressure regulation
    • Collapsing hose
    • Bypass valve failure
    • Potential-vanishing TS oil

Did you use the same resistor or replace it?

I need to find a source for that resistor to place in the original post.

as far as catching the TS oil overflow, this is what I have come up with,

    http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_oil_separator.php

I was turned on to it by my neighbor who installed it on his 03 Cobra, it is a very small unit and looks like it will work great, I have yet to install it but it should do the trick nicely

once I get it set up (in a month or so) I will take some pics and post them up

Unless you're planning to re-route the vented oil back into the compressor gearcase (which would be a desirable feature), it's not clear to me why you would need a separator as an oil catch-can.

right now the vent on the top of the EuroSport TS goes into the intake boot, I would like to stop the oil from dumping there, and at the same time you will be able to see how much blow-by the TS creates...
but you could re-route it back to the TS case if you wanted

    OK.

I've chosen to simply vent the case to the atmosphere and monitor oil level with the sight-glass assembly (link to instructions above in this thread).

i had touble finding it locally.....
the guy at radioshack suggested to me a temporary fix until i find the correct value resistor(i'm looking/calling around).
he hooked up in series a 1.5k-ohm resistor and a 470 ohm resistor to come up close with the posted value of 1.91 k-ohm value of the original resistor.
