New light Flywheel on market, might be better for FI (16.35 lbs)

This is F1 racing. There are a few people running these clutches on here and I just saw this item post up. I know many of you dont want a LWFW because the weight helps to spool up a turbo quicker. However, this one weighs in at 16.35 LBs so it may be a more viable option for turbo guys. Also, its made in Japan, so no shatty China quality controls with this one. Im looking into this but I was wanting to know if anyone has used it yet?

LOL, i understand that. They have to have an experimented car. Id like to see how it is doing. It does look pretty strong though. THey make them for many other makes and models I wonder if anyone from other car forums is using them?

You are just like a n/a with this respect. Turbo cars ussually are better off with somewhat heavy (or heavier) flywheels for low end load to spool the turbo faster. Although, to me the stock FW is too damn heavy. I like a fast reving engine myself.

This is just my opinion don't want to stir up a debate. My stocker broke so installed a 5 lb lighter f/w out of a euro m3 and I don't like it.Doesn't caryy power to the next gear like the heavier f/w.
Me personally i like the inertia that the heavy flywheel has.

In other words car feels slower now

I've been interested in this issue for a while and just curious what your turbo specs are?

I also don't want to stir up any negative debate but it seems to me that a smaller or "quicker spooling" turbo would benefit from a lighter flywheel.

In respect to bimmeracer3's question, supercharged cars benefit a lot from lighter flywheels because there's less load on the engine making for quicker spool. I personally went from the stock flywheel to UUC's 8.5lb flywheel and it was night and day difference.

Go to the UUC site it tells you why their is an advantage for a turbo to use a heavier flywheel. The inertia helps the turbo to spool up faster.
