Unless the car would strictly be a track car, i'd keep the E46. The 46 is a nicer car. I wish I could afford one. E36 has more connection to the road, which makes it a blast to drive and a great track car. But as a street driven car...you're going to be trading down to something with 10 year old powertrain parts, rubber, interior, electronics, ect. When you FI a car like that, all the stuff that wants to go wrong...does.

I love my E36. But to unload a 46 to get one and FI mod it, you're opening yourself up to a lot of work, and a lot of upkeep.

If you have to ask this then you just don't get it. Verts are like autos..... neither coexists very well with *high performance*. Usually.

Yeah a 6 speed E46 convertible is like a Auto, thats a real good thing to say, prove your point, I disagree yeah a coupe may be a little more solid but I think going to say a Vert is like a Auto, not to mention my car looks better with the hard top in my opinion then a coupe

    what about this?

Keep the e46, save and wait until a tuner makes a twin screw kit (eurosport, AA etc). Reliable, tons of torque, and a blast to drive daily.

I seem to have misunderstood the fact that you have a 46 M3. KEEP THE 46 M3!!!
