I take the bus to work.

    Anyone have a widebody m3?

I was looking to get these 10 inch wheels in the rear and apparently the stock body kit will not allow for it. I was wondering how the process is done. Is it a whole new panel? Or are new fender lips added to the stock fenders to make them wider?. either way, if I go through with this conversion, I would want the bestparts possible. If anyone can help me with my questions, please lt me know. I dont need to mod the front at all, assuming an 8.0 or 8.5 inch wheel will fit. All help is appreciated.. thanks!

the rear fender is a panel that needs to get molded onto the stock rear fender. the front fenders are replacement fenders. The side skirts should come as part of the kit to fit the fenders already sized. the front and rear bumpers for the widebody kit also should come sized for the fenders from the widebody kit. The body shop will do the trimming, molding of pieces, and pretty much have to repaint the entire car since most of it is getting replaced or sanded/etc. u can fit a 9" rim up front if u like. this costs big $$$$$$$$$$$.

or u can try to fit a shop that will just do the fender flares without the rest of the true widebody kit. But then ur front bumper wont match with the rest of the fender, or rear bumper to the fenders.. so ur better off spending the $15-$30k on the widebody kit/rims and proper body shop work.

I have no trouble running 17x9" wheels up front with stock fenders. SSR Integrals, ET45 with a 10mm spacer clears fine. Car is lowered with H&R sport springs. Any wider though would require larger fenders. I would like to go 18x10 all the way around.

Why would you want to run such a huge width? Are you having a problem putting power to the ground? Seems like a lot of dough and effort to go through just to mount larger rubber.

Speed. Got to get around the autox course as fast as possible. Other cars in my class are running 12" wide wheels already.

    Badmonkey,

    Is that Vic Sias' car?

Does he have the 18x10's in front also?

Looks like 285/30 Kumho Ecsta 700's. Just
like what I want to run!

    Chris,

Yes, that is Vic's car, 18x10 all four corners w/ 285's. Front fender-lip roll looks much better than the rear.

Cool. I will have to take a look this weekend. He and I will be racing together at the San Diego SCCA National Tour. I will be very interested to see how well the 285's work. Thanks,

well, it seems taht there are some people that are running 10s in the rear without a body kit. I still really dont understand how that is possible. Like I said, I only need to fit the 10 in the rear, so i dont need a widebody kit all around. Any pointers?
    THanks.

He has BBS CH 18x10 w/255/35 SO-3s. There are also pics of what he has done to his inner fenders to make this work. These are rims w/et41.
