Damn I got quoted for $272 front and back for strut mounts at Premier Auto. To be honest I don't got the tools and knowledge on what to do with these cars. I'm actually scared to touch any part of the suspension and motor lol.

Check engine light came on my 2008 e60. I checked the onboard system checks and nothing showed up. Can I use a regular OBD II scanner or do I have to use one specialized for BMW? If so, anyone care to help me out? LMK. Thank you.

If you need help, let me know. I can read and reset codes using INPA.

So my 08 535i has error code P0171 (system too lean bank 1). I scoured the forums for answers; most members have one or more codes affiliated with this one. I also read that a common misdiagnosis is the o2 sensor.

However, when I called an Indy shop and they said since it's only a single error code, that it CAN be the pre-cat o2 sensor. Any ideas?

My OBDII reader has a O2 sensor test, plus I'm sure I could use INPA to get the BMW specific fault code.

Hey Joe, you gave me two codes when you scanned with INPA: P1072 and 29E0. So far, I didn't find any confirmed solutions with these codes either. Hope it doesn't cost me an arm, leg, and testicle to get it fixed if it is the same problem that you had with your car.

So I just cleaned my MAF, da bugga was oily. I tried clearing the code with my dashcommand app with no success. Maybe the app isn't equipped to clear the code or it is something else?

Anyone here can clear my code to check? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a BMWhat bluetooth dongle, and the app. I used it to do a bunch of coding on my 1er, windows up on fob lock, higher voltage angel eyes, disable amber corner, auto fold mirrors on lock. If anyone wants to use it, or wants something coded, it only takes a few minutes to do, PM me.

I'd like to ask for help with my 97 540. I don't know how to read the sss software I got and if some one could do a scan, I'm having a b**** of a time with this car right now. Tired of asking indy shops (and waiting to hear that they don't have time). It would be nice to discuss this with someone who actually cares about bimmers and not just a sale. Yes, I'd be willing to pay if someone could figure this out with me. It's just one challenge I have with the car.... Idle. If I can fix that then she's golden! Let me know if anyone could help! (willing to trade too.)

Swerved300 (Ken) in Kailua works on the older models. Also, I have INPA and DIS that can scan the car for problems. Bad thing is I'm off island until 11 April.
