Checkers rents out spring compressors for free. You just have to pay a $50 deposit that you get back when you return it in the given time frame. If not you get to keep it.

Hi guys,
Is there any place that I can use to work on my car here in Honolulu?
I need to do some work: VANOS seals, valve cover gasket, oil filter housing, belts, oil level sender with oil change, some vacuum hoses. Shops will charge 000's for that but I'm comfortable to do it by my own just don't have place to do... I live in Waikiki in high rise so can't spend a day doing something with my car in parking garage...

hey guys car has been acting a little weird lately:
2001 e46 wagon
-service engine light comes on and off
-fuel indicator digital reader goes up when i start the car and when i drive goes back to normal. starts off at 200 gallons then goes up to 240 gallons then goes back down and fuel meter rises
-engine almost unbearable to touch after driving short distances. running hotter than normal
-car seems to be driving fine just had a recent oil change
anyone have any experiences with their cars and can help me out

I'm planning to change my motor and transmission plus flex shaft disk.
I'm looking for ramps and one good jack to do this job. I'm wondering if anybody can rent it or borrow them for weekend? I don't want to buy them for this job as I have one set of ramps already and don't need another as I don't have place to store them...
