I was perusing the board and saw this thread...
I just wanted to give props to the cool peeps in this forum. There's nothing like showing the 'Aloha' spirit to fellow enthusiasts and gaining a friend at the same time.
Hope to make the next C & C meet with you peeps and hopefully get some helping hands once I decide on what suspension setup to go with...
Thanks.
Dave

Well i'm new here, but i'm looking for stuff...
just looking for a 32mm wrench to get my fan off so i can get to my water pump, went out when i was on my way to work and i had to ditch it. Everything is still cool on it, i noticed something weird and pulled over, although i think it can make it home before over heating (not gonna try). But shoots, only day off today and cant find it. I'll keep a notification in case somebody replies.
On that note, I work at the Tony Autoplex, anybody looking for a new Nissan, VW, Honda or Hyundai, i can help with some pricing

have a question about the bumper supports on each side corner. Can I change it out with no issue? so I can put a different style of bumper on the car?

Yeah. Thermostat. Clogged like a mofo. Lol. I'm know a lot about a little. But I assumed without even checking. I mean if things aren't flowin, the thing that makes em move must be broke? Haha. Oh well. Can't find the part or the seal. So imma pull a used one for now
Yeah. Will do. Turns out it's something else. After Ed left he was gonna follow me out. By the time I starte the car. Checked the hoses and sat down in, it was 3/4 hot already. 2 more min it was on the red. So maybe it is the water pump. I don't think the radiator is clogged or anything. So I still have to do the pump.
Maybe your thermostat is sticking closed or not opening fully?
You don't need to use force, just project power......

I definately think its a waterpump issue

Me too, now. Interesting thing is he had what looked to me like a split in the lower hose and when we took out the thermostat and started adding water, it just didn't take any. If the water plump was working, it should have emptied the system, I would think. My first thought was a stuck thermostat and after eliminating that, it seems like the pump.

No we didn't bleed the system. The problem cropped up on a working car, I think, so something failed. Symptoms were the same before and after removing the tstat. Also noted, there is a lot of calcium deposits visible where the tstat housing is so I assume the whole engine may be like that. At best, this would inhibit proper cooling.
I've just gotta find time to to and do it. I should of tried to drive it a little. I know with my last one it'd do that on idle. But when things started moving it'd go back down. Also, I could inch it home. Only one exit away.
But I have Sunday off, or shoot. Maybe the whole next month. Haha. Anybody know any dealerships hiring?
