I just bought my 1980 320i sport off ebay about one month ago
It runs and drives good. I need to set proper timing and install a new down pipe. I will try restoring it into a vintage race car but still keep it legal to drive on public streets. If any one has any ideas or tips as to modifcations feel free to speak up and share your thoughts

if you need ideas, check the old posts, bunch of racing and vintage e21 the members have submitted. Also a lot of maintenance and basic questions you might want to take a look at them as well

Hi Guys I'm new here. I own a 1983 Euro 315. The only thing I have done to the car so far is put an American 1.8 liter motor in it, the German motor was blown up when I got the car. It needs a lot of body work done to it.
I'll get a better picture later.
If you're going to Bimmerfest,we'll get some for you!!!!

awesome car!
do u have any details about that ZF sport steering rack? i'm guessing it gives a shorter lock-to-lock than the standard 4 turns.

found 5 from zf. So I went ahead and got the 3rd of the 5.
I dont think you can really get this part.
Its not on my car right now due to the fact I am still trying to finish the final painting of the car.
However I have been told by Paul at Maximillan this rack is "Like lightspeed"
when you turn. It allows a quicker response than standard.
I am also working on the engine upgrade to a 2.8 liter stroker with knife edged 524td crank.

Hey ppl. Im new round these parts. Thought I would post a pic of my ride. It's still in progress (has been for the last 6 months). So far I have (some not installed) a cold air intake, Jacobs C-4 Coil Kit with high perf. wires and plugs, Top-End Performance header, Tom Motorsports front racing seats, bbs rear side skirts, battery relocated, red fan removed, elec fan with adj. temp installed, Zender trunk Spoiler, BMW Motorsport front spoiler, Ground Control coil overs ( spring rate -400 front, 300 rear) with bilsteins. Doing body work right now, it will be painted gloss black in a few weeks. Wheels will be powdercoated black, and all the chrome will be black. Hi, my name is Todd and I am an E21er.
I have been a long time E21 Digest member and just found this through Nic.
My car is an '82 2nd owner, Graphite Metallic, 214,000mi daily driver, auto-xer and track day car.
Cosmetic - Macco (yes Macco) respray over a never wrecked 97% rust free chassis, Zender front and rear spoilers, euro bumpers, Audi 4000 leather buckets, small Grant 3 spoke wheel, AutoMeter phantom series mechanical oil pressure gauge, crappy stereo, rear lic plate moved below bumper.
Performance - M42, 5spd, 2002 tii flywheel, heim-jointed fully adjustable custom front end (similar to the one VAC sells but of my own design), Bilstein sports on 4 corners, 350lb coil overs on front, unknown rate rears (came off a 323 ITE car), 19mm rear bar, 1" front bar, camber plates, rear sub-frame bushing with filled voids, urethane trailing arm bushings, Arrdvarc racing rear disk kit, 77 vented front brakes, braided brake lines, Griffin aluminum radiator, cut-off shift lever with billet knob, trunk mounted battery.
Plans - am working with Nic on a turbo system, stand alone engine management, put back together and install the LSD on my bench, get some seats that aren't falling apart.
very nice car Todd, lots of work into it. Do you have any more pics? Welcome to BF.com e21 section
