History
This car was purchased in 1984 by my father in PA. it currently has 215k, original motor.
This car was shipped from PA to AZ in 1990, and then shipped to Amiens, France in 1991 for three years of European driving. While in France, it recieved the Yellow Headlight conversion and european liscence plates. The car was driven daily about 5 miles to work and back. My father did not convert it to european bumpers at that time. It was then shipped back to AZ in 1993 where it now resides. the car is a weekend driver and has been garaged all its life.
Im loving every minute of this car and am learning as much as i can from it.

Alpina at Buchloe. It was not confirmed until I sent the vin and the id plate number to them. There were a lot of other items added (according to the tech sheets) but the po or the one before had taken those details off. It "had" a full suspension kit and the extended range tank. The only things left were the stripes (passenger side) and the engine. Took a scope to the combustion chamber and they are hemispherical. The pistons are different as well. But little by little I am bringing he back to life.

did zender make two different side skirts? cuz the ones i got are flared at the end....they go up a little around the wheel wells.
one last q, how do u like the volvo 4 pot upgrade?
for pics, it's best if u can find a host/somewhere to upload them.....or u can upload one pic per post from ur computer (if u click on 'post reply' towards the bottom of this thread, then u'll see that u can attach files to ur post.....just above the 'submit reply' button)
hehehe, yeah i just put some of those in my car last summer and i love 'em too! i think there's still ''brake dust'' but it's that light tan color, and looks just like dirt/dust from the ground.Originally posted by Yonkers320is
PBR Deluxe brake pads (no brake dust to clean )
Jbob,
Yes Zender did make the two styles but the difference was in the rear apron. One was ribbed and the other was flat. And the sideskirts pretty much all the zenders were flat. The BBS did have the extended piece that went up on the wheelwells.
The volvo 4 pots are great. They have a lot more grab than the stock ate calipers and with the PBRs from Auto zone they take a bit longer to start fading, more like a lot longer. I also added the e12 master cylinder and you can feel the difference in the pedal with the added piston diameter.
Forgot about the paint, the po had painted the car due to a fender bender and the front is a different color than the rest of the car. Graphit and the rest is Ascot. The mirrors were painted some time before it was brought over because it is the same Ascot grau as the rest of the car.
Thanks for the pic tips. We'll see if car domain does not mind

awesome!!!!
what spring rates and lengths did u get for ur ground controls? and how's the ride?
is ur car track-only or streetable?
yay, engine swap (i think u told me before , thats' gonna be one helluva e21 ). how close are u to swaping engines?
Springs are 2.5 inch ID 6 inches long, 500lb front, 400lb rear
It is a street driven car! The ride is stiff around town, especially on a bumpy road, but if you are on a highway its not bad.
The engine is in the car, however its not running yet.
Now, if I can get all the runoff that went into my garage and froze to become an ice skating rink in my garage, I may actually be able to get it finished!

whoa 500 & 400......she must handle like a dream on the track tho.
how low do u usually have the car while driving it on the streets?
also, have u done any urethane bushings in the chassis and suspension?
Due to the fact that I really know the capabilities of my car, not many cars (or drivers for that matter) push their cars as hard as I do in the corners.
I remember a couple of years ago at Lime Rock, I was doing a drivers school with the BMW Club and someone showed up with an ALMS Dodge Viper GT2 Race Car for the event for some practice. This car was unbelieveably fast! The one funny thing that kept happening during the day (which says alot), He would go flying past me on the front straight like I was standing still, then start hitting the brakes to slow down for Turn 1. Me in my underpowered gokart didn't have to brake till much later. I would actually catch him as we turned in to Turn 1 and I would start sticking the nose of my car inside of him in the turn. Since it was only a school I couldnt' pass him in the turn, but I think if it was allowed, I could have! I shouldn't be able to catch a car like this going into that turn.
The coilover kit has 4 inches of adjustment from top to bottom. For street driving I leave it close to the middle point of adjustability. For certain track events and autocrosses, I will either raise the car or lower the car. Most of the time, I will lower the car 1 inch from where I normally have it. At the middle point, the Factory IS front spoiler sits about 2 inches off the ground. If I lower the car all the way, I can get the front spoiler down to 3/4 of an inch off the ground, however, I can't really drive the car at this height due to the suspension practically being bottomed out. Maybe if I had 2000lb race springs in the car I could!
the only urethane bushings in the car are the swaybar mounting brackets, other then that all other suspension bushings are stock!
