I have a 1983 320i that I got it a couple months ago. It has 144,000 miles on it. Paid $2800 for it. Runs and drive great though. I did a bumper tuck on it, moved the battery to the back. Completely swapped the interior to black leather (had a parts car with a really good interior). Swapped a bunch of parts from my parts car. I really need to get it painted and change my steering rack bushings. But other than that, future stuff is maybe rims, lower the whole car, fix my heater( I’m in Alaska). I think adding power steering would be sweet. Has anyone done that?
My car is 1983 320i. All stock just got it and got it running to drive. And before you get all weird on me about it being a e30 it's not. Build date is 11/82 so still makes e21 line . Have plans for her more power ether turbo or supercharger( thinking turbo). I want to go 15in rims but unsure of offset. Hoping to learn alot about her here. Worked on vw in past so kinda familiar with euro cars.
1980 & 1983 respectively.
Both purchased within the same week. I was in between projects and had nothing on my hand and got bored and got them both for good price with minor issues. My gf hated me that week. I'll get rid of the black one pretty soon.

62,000 miles but odometer doesn’t work.
i plan to keep it stock; but may change the paint color when I deal with rust and dents.
Would like a stealth, mp3 setup.
I just realized I butchered my post above. Here are my two e21's. I ended up towing the black one in Feb 2018 home, wasn't running, and now I got it running. I found a steal of a deal about a week later on craigslist for the green one... I had to get it. It was in significant better condition. My plan has been to swap out some of the parts of the black one to the green one, which I have slowly been doing now and eventually sell the black one because who needs two e21's? Last week I attempted to swap wheels from the black one to the green one. I didn't like how the gold rims looked on the green one so I swapped them back to the black one and reinstalled the 'alpina' style wheels back on the green one.

Won on ebay June 2019 for $1300. Bought it with a rod hanging out of the block. Purchased a 150k used engine on ebay for $350. Plan to make a driver out of it, make minor improvements over time but keep it mostly stock.
My first BMW. Always wanted an E21 320i. I was eight when this car was new and I always thought they were neat looking.

My name is Joe Palmer and I have recently started an E21 Special Interest Group and Register under the aegis of the BMWCCA. I would like to post this forum on our E21CCA FB page to encourage our growing membership to participate here. Please let me know if this is OK with Admins, and the rules of the forum.
Like wise, we would like to invite all who have an E21, aspire to own one, are nostalgic about one they sold, or are simply interested in the first three series BMW to join us on Facebook at E21CCA on FB or https://www.facebook.com/groups/516210162251388/. Thank you in advance and hope this is acceptable.
Hi
My name is Moeid Hamidi from iran and i have bought a '76 BMW E21 320 last week.
And i will start the restoration process soon.
Hi
My name is Nicolas from France near Paris.
Thank you all for your acceptation.
I have a 1982 323i S edition from 2004 ans was full restorated in 2015.
This car is an Limited Series produced between may and july 1982, about 200 exemplary :
2 colors, Ascotgrau ans Antrazit metallic painted.
Recaro seats
Sport steering wheel
2 exterior mirror painted
FPS wheels in 13'
Sport bilstein b6 suspension
BBS front spoiler
Foha Rear Spoiler
During the restoration, I decided to restore all the seats in black leather with rear headrest and install 15' BBS MALHE wheels
I decide to not remove the front and rear spoiler, to conserve the original design and add power windows, power steering and front foglight pre-connecting
My car have 270 000 kilometer and the motor, gearbox and final drive is in original condition, not open.

$500 1980 320iS
She's ratty, and she needs clutch hydraulics and a myriad of electrical items, but she runs good and she's all mine now.
She's got all the iS goodies, recaro sport seats, mesh wheels, LSD, front airdam (although severely damaged)
95k on the speedo.
The bad:
Previous owner cut springs
spare tire well rusted out
windshield wrecked
definitely needs mega TLC
Did I get a good deal?

Had this car almost a year now, been busy travelling and working. Finally getting around to starting my project. Had to dig it out of a snowbank the other day. I got it from a friend who bought it in 1985 at the dealership in Toronto when it cane back off lease. It's an 82 320i, 5 spd. M10B18. Came with another 82 for parts. It's been sitting about 15 years now. I have allot of work ahead of me but I've never been so stoked about a project like this.
Cheers

Greetings. Dragged home my first E21 to complement my E83 earlier this week. I had an E46 years ago.
The car was given to me by one of my neighbors, who bought it new in 1981 for ~$16k. He finally stopped driving it in 2003, when it was parked behind his detached garage and mostly forgotten, because his kid got stuck in the backseat on a spring that was sticking out of what's left of the cushion. It has 238k miles, with a full list of service records going back to the day it was sold. I was shocked that the owners manual and logs, which were kept in the door panel, are literally immaculate. The driver's floor needs a 12" patch, as does the lower trunk valence panel, not to mention everything else. The engine might be frozen, I'm not going to force anything until I pull the plugs and add some Marvel to free them. It is original Saphireblau. The oil's condition is commensurate with the 1800 miles and 18 years since its last oil change, but the radiator is dry. Peering through the oil fill cap, what parts of the valvetrain I can see are obviously dry, but don't appear terrible; I can see varnish, but not sludge. The driver's door opens/closes solidly as does the trunk, both windows roll down freely, 3/4 tires hold air (4th has a snapped valve stem), there's no water leaks into the car that i could find (so far); the passenger door is stuck despite appearing "unlocked", and the hood is stiff. It goes up and down with a little resistance, but refuses to slide back into place, which is why the engine is full of debris.
My goal is to have a project build with my kid in a few years when he's old enough to read numbers and hand me wrenches. I'm not sure which drivetrain direction I'll go, but the more I'm thinking about it, would like to build the M10, possibly with some modern internals (N20, M54, N52. etc pistons, rods, etc) where applicable, obviously with the necessary machine work as needed. Lots of measurements to take and data collection to make. I have in my head the E21 M3 that never existed.
Build link is in my sig for a full list of items and pictures, but here are a few teasers.

and yes, the wheels are gonna go in favor of factory 13" BBS
Just picked up this 1983 320i last week. Has not been registered since 1991! Working through the fuel system now and of course, it's giving me trouble.
Here's my '79 320i I purchased new in May of that year.

1979 320i 134k miles
Finally found an E21 project that's got me excited. Just picked it up a few days ago. The M10 2.0L K-Jet with original 4spd is running strong with 126K original miles. Clutch is strong. Shocks have been replaced with KYB, and suspension and steering components checkout fine. Is currently missing a muffler, so on the hunt for OE front and rear muffler with hardware out of Germany, and may settle for a bolt-on ANSA in the meantime. Tan/saddle Interior is all there, with one rip in drivers seat. Car has been repainted Hennarot red (could be Iberischrot, but I have never seen the colors side-by-side, so it's hard for me to really tell). I believe the original color is brown, as there is a tell-tale sign in the boot. Currently sitting on 13" steel with brand new rubber (was the first stop before I made it home). Heater core has been bypassed. First order of business is an appointment with Patrick at Midnight Motorsport in Seattle to have a complete inspection done, and come up with a solid plan for a nice restoration rod. We're going to start by taking out the dash and replace everything that needs addressing (heater core, etc.). I need heat in Seattle! I'm also in a hurry to get these funky mirrors replaced, so if any of y'all have some chrome flag mirrors that you're willing to part with, I'll take 'em. Not that it's super important, but some ATS Classic Wheels are currently in transit (just miss the 80's man!).
Any and all feedback and advise welcomed. I'd love to start out talking to y'all and getting some tips. I'm sure you have some good advice that will save me some pain. Take care and Merry Christmas! - Brandon
