Stacking spring pads, quick question (with pic woohoo!)

from the guys that have stacked spring pads in the rear before, which way is it supposed to go?

I have 2 different sized spring pads:

    (2) Stock Ones - 7.5mm or whatever is stock on 98 M3/4
    (2) 15mm Ones picked up from dealership

Which pads should I cut (the 7.5mm or 15mm) and which diagram below shows the correct positioning when installing on the rear spring?

Cut and stack the thinner pads on to the thicker pads.
the thicker pads you will install like diagram A. there are shear forces on the rear suspension due to rubber bushings.
The thicker uncut pads against the body will be more stable, imo.

ok, so take the stock 7.5mm pad, cut it and then push it on to the thicker uncut pad which will be inside the upper spring perch. so it's ok that the mounting tab (the part i cut off the thinner pad) wont go all the way through the 7.5mm and then mount in to the spring like normal though?

Cut that point off the smaller.
They won't fit flush otherwise bc the inner parts are the same diameter.

No, it won't matter that it won't go in all the way by a few mm.
The additional thickness will make it fit tighter bc the spring will be under greater compression than if stock length with only one pad which is a negligible change anyway.

ok cool that's what i just had to make sure, that the point coming off the 15mm going through the 7.5mm would be enough to still seat inside the inside of the spring

Figure it's approx a little more than a ¼" difference.
