Hey guys, wondering if you could help me out by posting some pics with window tint percentage. Also, suggestions on a black on black for me . I see many people go with 35% is this the universal tint %? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
Personally i feel that 35% all around looks cool and classy. Any darker and it gets that black window look that i think looks good on a limo but not a passenger car.

do 35%. Perfect shade, without looking like you painted your windows black with nightshade.
Ohhhh Man! All these look Awesome!
NollieStylz' looks cool but I know cops are on the lookout for that in Cali.
The good thing is that legally, you can have 70% on front but anything you want on back and rear here.
Now, I see some 35% looks darker than others, some also look more metalic. Is this a common difference when choosing manufacturers? Is there a metalic option vs. a plain option in tint?
The "metallic" is called mirror tint. Looks good on a luxury car.

I have 35% all around. Thats what is legal here and illegal would void the warranty. I think mismatched tint (35 front/25 back) looks bad.
I think if your doing tint all the windows (except windshield of course) shoul be the same %. I think it looks terrible when your rear window and side you cant see into at all but you car see through the pass. and drives window. It looks bad when you can see to diff shades of tint. As far as which one looks the best def 15% all round. 5% does look good but have fun driving at night or trying to see out the rear.
35%
See 35% is a little to light for me. You can still see in. I like it when you cant see hardley anything.
Yeah 30-35% is good. Lumar or Solarguard FTW!
^^ see that look amazing. Much better than if you had 35% or something around that.
As for what the "universal" tint is, about 90% of people who come into Accutint or Car Nutz for tint get 20%. I was at Accutint last week and they had a 997 Turbo getting 20%. Most SUVs have the rear windows tinted at 20% from the factory. Range Rovers are 15%. 20% on a light interior will look like 35% on a dark interior. Lighting and angle have alot to do with how dark a tint appears, also. I would get 20% or 35%... Hope this helps.
I would go with 30%.
I had 35% on my first e36 and it was too light for me. So now one my second I have 20% and it is perfect.
I have 35% on mine and I think it's perfect. Not too dark yet not too light.
Does anyone have any pics of 35% all around, including windshield? I'm getting my windows tinted next week.
including windshield? i'm pretty sure that illegal anywhere on EARTH.
I actually just got 35% installed in my black/black e36, and I was debating what to get for a while, but I am definately glad I got 35%. It only looks alight in direct sunlight, but when it's cloudy or at night, it's dark enough.
I also was trying to avoid the "gangster-drug dealer limo tint look" and was going for a clean, more classy look.
I'll try and take some pics soon
