how many e34's were manufactured during its lifespan?
if anyone has some details that would be great, if you also have details comparing the numbers to the e28 and e39 that would also be excellent. im just trying to figure out when my car is going to appreciate in value...

    I second that!

The /5 /6 refers to the manual transmission.
The 540i was the first use of the 6-speed in the e34, so there is no factory 535i/6.

I've driven an E34 540 Auto, and I have to say the 6-speed is wwaaayyy better than auto, and the 6-speed is my daily driver. Just thought I'd share... I'm sure people have their preferences.

O yeah, since this thread is about numbers, I drive 540i M-sport, one of only 200 produced in the US

Hmm... I don't think any e34's were ever made in the U.S. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure he means brought to the US. BMW didn't start US production until, what, 1996? Or was it later?

Is this all around the world?

It was made 1206342 saloon's... I just see a lot of Tourings at sell and way, but way less saloons! Why is that?

You are going to be waiting a long, long time. Two factors hold the price down:
    1. 1 million were made
    2. It isn't exactly a "poster" car.

540i M-Sport and M5 are definitely worthy of being on posters.

Manual E34s aren't very common over here so I think that makes them more desirable, that and the driving aspect, and expensive auto box issues.
