wires going to the rear brakes

so today i get underneath the car to check my speed sensor since my speedo didnt work since i bought it two weeks ago. found a broken wire and fixed the speedo problem. i noticed that there are some wires that go to the rear brakes that were cut or have broken off. i have no warning lights on at all, im wondering what these wires do.

    i have a 91 328is.

Could either be ABS or brake line sensors.
I own mostly junk. Except the Porsche, that's kind of cool.
All the motorcycles are trash which you can read about at

    I'll update it eventually

first of all, you don't have a 91 328is, unless it's bored/stroked, in which case it doesn't really pertain to your question. secondly, it's probably the brake wear sensor like you said, is it just two thin wires? are there two wires already going to your rear passenger side, inside pad? i forget what side it is on the front
