Hello, new owner here.

Hello board members. I just sold my Nissan 300ZX 2+2 and bought a sensible family sedan. I was very lucky to find a 1997 540 with 40K from an original owner who kept it as a family run about. Kids and all. Always garaged. A very very sweet and potent ride. Love the neck snapping instant acceleration from a dead stop. Love how the G's have you in the seat till well into 3 digits. I'm sure it's all old news to some here but it's new to me and i love it.

I have loved pedigree cars forever. We own a 03 Infinity Q45 i have to say that it's just not as cool to drive as the 540. Yes it has more options and silly (add nothing to the driving experience) gadgets. But it drives like a well handling boat. The 540 is so much fun we may sell the Q and get a 740, LOL!
Japanese cars even though good and some very very good still lack the spirit of a car like a BMW. I can drive a lexus and aside from the badge on the car it's all very blahhh. I don;t like how Japanese cars constantly change their appearance. Every new model year it's a different looking car. I personally hate that. I like cars like the BMW and Mercedes that have a true line and history they can be faithful to. I'll be posting more on why i feel BMW is one of the finest production cars in the world.

ah yes, the infection has taken hold. welcome to the forum. you've got a lot of reading to catch up on. make friends with your local bimmer indy mechanic and learn how to do as much maintenance yourself so the dollars stay in your wallet.
