I've done a search and seen UUC, B&M , Racing Dynamics etc.
Which shifter gives the best feel and throw reduction(for street use)?

thanks for the link. looks like i'll be saving a buck or 2
The best one is to start browsing the z4/z3 forums and find users who are getting a SSK, then buy their shift levers for a couple bucks .
Yeh Ive been looking too
I like the UUC version
but I think I'm going to get the rebuild/bushing kit from Pelican and a Z3 shifter, and put the money somewhere else.

I've got a B&M and really like it, you can do the other stuff (z3/4 M3, etc) and shorten it up a lot, but the one thing I really can't live w/o is the (use whatever shifter you want just be sure to get this) DSSR from UUC, it really cleans up the side to side slop and makes the shifter feel like something from this decade. Just be careful with UUC's directions they say to put the notch in the linkage down to clear the flex disk. Putting it in that way for me caused the top to bind on the shifter housing and and I couldn't get the thing into gear when there was plenty of clearance, I flipped it around (when the directions basically say under penalty of death not to) and it works perfectly, god I love the aftermarket.
The only other cheap upgrade that works well (gets rid of the up/down slack when you push on the shifter) is to get a delrin shift console bushing (Carr and AKG sell them) the locking pin for the console fits really tight (read hard to get in when your under the car trying to wrestle it in) but its works nice.

ok guys, forget about the cost factor, which the best quaility SSK out there for the E30.
Is it the UUC EVO 3 kit or B&M?
UUC EVO3 with DSSR.
eventually i will get rid of my z4, and get a UUC. I'm slowly starting to swap out my budget parts, for real ones
Ok guys thanks for all your opinions. I'll just do it right the first time and get the UUC Evo3 SSK. I believe it costs $325.
how do i find a replacement shift kit that's not a short shift kit to just replace the oem in the car with just the bushing so its not so sloppy anymore?
josh
I'd get the Autosolutions for an SSK.
If you want a stock throw shifter, get a new stock lever, a delrin carrier bushing, and a DSSR.

ive had the UUC SSK for probably almost 10years it is excellent and i havent even got the DSSR installed, will do it soon had the parts for about 5 years lol. anytime i drive other manuals m3 etc i think WTF is this shit
I did the E60 lever with the Garagistic DSSR and delrin bushings, along with an adjustable-height BavAuto lighted knob. I love it because it has a stock-looking height but the throws are virtually cut in half. Shifting effort is barely increased as well. The perfect solution for a non-racekar daily driver or fun car.
