Wisconsin is Canada and Canada loves F1.

Also, Canadian F1 Race makes the USGP looks like 3 guys racing skateboards down a back alley.

I would love to see F1 race at Laguna but as it has been discussed countless times before....Indy is the only track in the USA that is approved by Bernie's entourage of F1 management people. The track has the infraestructure both WITHIN and outside the track to host such a massive event.

I went to Indy back in 2000. The track sucks more than the Phoenix street course that was used back in 1989, 1990, and '91.

Laguna Seca would be great, but Road America or Road Atlanta would be excellent venues.

Road America is in the middle of nowhere, but the track itself is awesome.

FIA and Bernie/Max's safety requirements rule out a lot of the great US circuits. Laguna Seca might qualify now that they've cleared off the runoff area around the corkscrew. Lime Rock could be another great candidate. I would love to see F1 at VIR or Road Atlanta, but it would take a lot of money to get those tracks up to FIA standards.

But in the end, Indy draws too much cash for Bernie to take his show elsewhere.

Kubica isnt driving much in the second practice either. Weird. Heidfeld is doing good though, hes P3 currently.

I second that! I work on a FA team that primarily races at Road America its about 45 minutes from me and I go as often as possible. Even done a few autox's there. But they've hosted the jordans and found the track isnt nearly wide enough and the safety barriers arent up to f1 spec. It has been talked about and I've even met David Hobbs there because he lives in milwaukee, about 30 minutes away.

I'd be happy to spearhead a fundraising effort to bring the track up to FIA spec. When do we start?

I had a nice chat with Hobbs, his son Guy, and his wife at Seibken's during the '02 Redman. We had a table next to theirs at dinner one evening. I've always liked the guy, and meeting him in person was a highlight of that trip.

Thumbs up for Heidfeld. The commentators got it right when they said, "Take THAT, stewards!"

I hope to god he is ok. Definately knocked out. He also hit that retired car off the track, the announcers said he hit the wall but on the replay you can see him clipping that car.

That was sickening, you could see his feet sticking out the broken front end of the car. I hope Kubica is A-OK.

Yeah that looked like a bad one. I don't think he'll come out of that one uninjured.
