Anyone know the location of the right front factory pre-wired alarm plug for the siren? It says it should be off the harness for the passenger front headlights. No luck yet finding it. Any help guys?
On my M3 I believe mine was either around the windshield washer canister area or toward the headlight...on the passenger side. The plug may be taped up within the harness and if so you should be able to feel it with your fingers.

Yep. Should be behind the right (passenger side) headlight.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the help. Got the factory Alpine alarm in last weekend, but could not find the plug under the hood. Will look tomorrow morning.
Have you guys heard about these HID xenon aftermarket kits? Are they any good and are they safe to use with existing E36 housings? Thanks.
Nick,
Take off your headlight on the passenger side. If your car has all the options available, its tilt wheel also, you need to remove a metal box and the horn siren inside. The connector should be there. Best way, once again is to remove the headlight and look down. Aftermarket HID, which one are you talking about?? If you have US headlights, don't bother, get some ellipsiods first before HID.

Clear Corners and Tires are not considered a modification.
The wire for mine leads over by the battery post. It goes in the car and its two wires.

So I would say just follow that wire from the front and you will find where the harness is.
Will do! You guys rock!
I do have the tilt wheel option as well as the pre-wired car for the alarm. Everything else was there on the wiring under the glove box. On my Alpine wiring harness I had 1 additional 2 wire output plug which I think is for a motion sensor.
THE PHILLIPS HID Xenon aftermarket kit, I will wait to get a set of ellipsoidals. Thanks again.
my factory siren plug was on the LEFT side of the car, same side as driver sits,,,,,, also, it was in the trunk, not under the hood,,,
Ummmmm. Pikachu, turn around, you are sitting in the car backwards. Didn't it seem odd you had 5 reverse gears and only one forward?
I'll let you all know what I find....I looked quickly yesterday and you find the hood switch easily enough, but not the siren plug-in point. Should be a plug on the factory wiring harness that allows me to plug in my factory Alpine alarm siren. The installation instructions show me to mount the siren under the front hood, passenger front side, front radiator support crossbar by the right front headlight.....
We shall see....
I hope Pikachu has NOT been running her car with 5 rverse gears and 1 forward gear......
Thanks for all the help and advice....
LOL!!!! Pikas a dude!!
Figured as much. :p
so deez,
i see the wires from your post on my car fopr the switch for the hood, but where did you mount your alarm siren? Mine is mounted per the installation instructions, on the front support rail. DON'T SEE YOURS MOUNTED THERE. MUST GO DIG THRU MY WIRING AND LOOK BEHIND THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING......

Ok mine is mounted under the pass headlight. the harness for it hangs off the the top by the headlight and its white. My pictures didn't turn out because its in a hard place to take one. but I will see if I can get a better one.
Thanks man. I'm still looking for that damn connector. Someone suggested I pull the passenger side headlight assembly out completely. I am ready to do that! LOL. Thanks for the help. You guys rock...
I will try to take a pic of mine tonight as well.
Having just replaced the siren a month ago I know it was along the passenger side, just a bit front of the wheel well.
Really appreciate the help. AND THE PIC OF WHERE THIS DAMN PLUG IS!
As Photopoint is not letting me show images the same way - I am looking for a place to store photos and link to them. In the mean time I am sending you 3 emails with the pictures of the plug I took this morning. Let me know if you have further questions.
I cant see your email address to send a file, only a message. Send me you email address or hang on while I try to post the pics somewhere.
