Which standalone unit for e30 M50 Turbo

I am converting my 87 325e to a daily driver M50 turbo. I would like to have around 350whp. I dont plan on making many performance modifcations after my initial turbo setup. Im willing to pay the price for a unit that will meet my needs without going overkill on a system with extra functions and uses that i would not utilize or need.

What kind of standalone system should i go with and why??

Any opinions or points of view would be helpfull

Bosch makes a tight one called motronic. The sick part is that it comes pre-programmed and plug and play.

I heard that Megasquirt II /w MS2Extra is perfect for these M50 based engines. Might want to look towards that.

Exactly. Motronic is more capable than both MS1, and Tec3. MS2 might be a bit more capable, but you lose th major advantage to motronic - it just plugs in.

See the issue I think for me and other DIY'ers is that The motronic is out of most users hands. At least mine. I would love to tune my factory ECU but unfortunately I am not educated in the computer realm enough to be able to tune it. I personally like being able to plug in a laptop and have a somewhat user friendly interface. I wish somebody would figure things out like the UBERDATA boys had for losers like me.

Even more simple, switch to a blow thru carb setup!
