Got a quick web page made with pictures of the systems put up, - Link to Exhaust Systems pics wanted to let you guys see some pictures of the systems I've put together. I had 25 complete systems made this run - they are done and aready for packaging and shipping.
Copy from older post; Dyno runs compairing stock system to mine-
The new Exhaust system includes new: Down pipe from manifold is a 2 1 5/8
" stainless steel into 1 2 1/4" aluminized, and 2 1/4" aluminized piping out to the bumper, with Megaflow 2 1/4" high flow cat and Dynomax 2 1/4" super turbo muffler that mounts using the stock Muffler hanger and rubber donuts. ALL bends are mandrel bends no crushed muffler bender bends.
The stock exhaust is just that with the exception of a Magnaflow High flow cat, stock cat plugged at Bimmerfest 2005 so I replaced it with the 2 1/4" megaflow.
Car is an 80iS with stock motor that I put rings, bearings and did a valve job on 30,000 miles ago. The Odometer is working and reading 239,000 miles.
Only engine mod's are: min head surfacing at time of valve job, MSD super blaster coil, Motor fan and air removal.
Runs were made in the morning about 10:30 am, weather was 67 Degs with low level overcast, almost looked foggy.
Here is the graph of the dyno runs - no tuning was done at all only changed the exhaust. Because the stock exhaust was fitted with the 2 1/4' Megaflow high flow cat also, I am sure the stock ratings are higher then if it had been with a stock cat:
Stock exhaust are the blue and red lines and the 2 1/4" are the black and pink lines
Driving: the motor pulls longer and smoother all the way up to 7,000 RPM which is all I am willing to take it to with 239,000 miles on it. It does not make a HUGH difference in the butt dyno - but it sure runs smoother and has 700 more rpm of power at the top end.
Side note: I was really surprised to see the HP at the wheels up to 89 – with 239,000 miles on the pistons and bores I was expecting to be in the 76 to 80Hp range!

Nice job there!!! The stuff looks great in person.
Well done!
I have 2.25 to/from cat also, put on by the prev owner. During my engine rebuild I wondered if it was too big, a lot of folks thought so at the time, but it has really served me well. The engine does rev free, but I dont have a good point of reference like you do as the orig. motor pre-rebuild was shit and my other car was a tired 2.0L that took MUCH longer to rev to 6K.
What is your compression after your refresh of the engine?
John
Thought I would add that my car passed smog two weeks ago, southern california - system has been on the car for 4 months now.

Sorry I do not know, I'll have to do a compression check. I put the motor together, dropped it in, fired it up, saw everything was working as it should... Give it the old spine the tires we're good to go driving test. And it was back to being we daily driver. I'm a little OLD SCHOOL when it comes to motors.

Looks good man.
Bumping this one too, it has the link for more final production pictures and details, PM me for current pricing and shipping info. I can ship to Canada, Australia is pricey shipping and not sure about the homeland & UK. I also worked out some pricing for people with headers and if I get enough interest I might be able to do some 2" systems for those who think 2 1/4" is too big.
Anyway let me know if you have any questions, Daryl

You have a PM sir.

FYI I still have some of the 2 1/4" systems for late model 80 to 83 E21 m-10 cars left. These will not fit early models without up grading to the late model Cast Iron exhaust manifold- - which I think is a better manifold.

Bumping thread as I just noticed the dyno run pic was missing. Also added some more notes to first post.
