Question 100hp per liter road cars?

What are some road cars that produce over 100hp per liter?

I know the BMW M3 and Honda S2000 are two of them and I would imagine that a Ferrari or some sort (if not all of them) prduce over 100hp per liter...

    Any others?
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

360 modena does, the thing about 100HP/liter cars is the majority of there power is uptop b/c they all have seriously high redlines. you have to sacrifice torque for serious high end HP.

Integra Type-R, 217BHP from 1998cc, I guess most NA ferraris, lambo's etc. amd nearly all non-NA 'performance' cars...

You're asking for 100hp/liter NA engines right? There are a bunch more if you're talking FI too.

The McLaren F1 was the first one to do it I'm pretty sure. I think TVR has got a few cars too..... but yeah, m3 and s2k for sure.

The Ferrari 360 does.. getting 395 hp from a 3.6 liter v8. The 550 only pulls 485 hp out of its 5.5 liter v12. I'm not sure about the Diablo, but the Murcielago gets 580hp from its 6.2 liter powerplant... 100hp/liter is alot harder to achieve from engines that big though. I'm pretty sure BMWs S70 in the F1 is the only 12 cylinder to pull 100hp/liter

All these are FI engines except the 360. There are LOTS of FI engines over 100hp/liter..... way too many to list.

And I just checked on the Ferrari F50 and it pulls 520hp out of a 4.7 liter v12... so much for the S70 being the only one

Yup... only NA engines. Forced/Chemical Induction is easy to achieve over 100hp /liter.

yea..FI engines can do over 200hp/litre...especially the over-engineered (imo) supra engine which can get close to 300hp/litre with the bolt on of a new turbo bigger than my head...but like the saying goes..what does a 400hp and 900hp supra have in common? they both run 13s...

Not the Mini - 1.6 Litre, only 115 HP

The S would make it, along with lots of other FI cars, but we aren't including them.....

We also should not include rotary engines, as the displacement is usually multiplied in classing for competition.....just as FI cars are..

    Pieces of 128
The e30 M3, particularly in later Evos was darn close. AND without variable valve timing. Not bad for mid-80s technology.

    I've heard that saying also.

    Now why is that?
Is it lack of driver skill, or is the suspension and tire setup hold the car back?

    Actually... it's a traction problem.

When those huge T81 Turbos spool, you're jumping from 180ft-lbs of torque to 600ft-lbs of torque in a few RPM causing the rear tires to break loose.
