I have picked up from some well informed people in the motoring industry that there is an unsupported rumour of a limited edition Z4 M Coupe with the S85 (E60 M5) engine and SMG III gearbox.
Apparently the engine bay on the Z4 M Coupe is long enough to house S85 V10.
Has anyone heard anything on this?

HAHAHAHA.
Thats great, is it April 1st already?
Cos...
I seriously doubt BMW is doing anything like this. Hamann or Hartge maybe; one of them put the engine from the E39 M5 in a Z4 previously.
You had your entire life to prepare for today.
Why add more weight to the front? I would rather have a limited edition CSL -style MZ4 Coupe instead:
- 3000lbs or lower
- increased output on the 3.2 I-6
- alcantera seats/steering wheel
- carbon fiber panels, air dam/diffuser
putting 500hp on the Z4M is not just a matter of dropping in the motor/tranny.. everything else has to change (brakes, suspension, weight, reinforcements, differential, wheels, tires..etc)
It would essentially be a totally new car.

I stand by previous comments, if there is a wealthy person in this forum that would like to buy me this car I will take it gladly.
haha
Transmission tunnel isn't wide enough for the SMGII or III....
Did you happen to buy some timeshares while you were there?

Exactly. I am amazed how people believe that you can just plug a different powerplant into a car like Legos.
The Z8 and MZ3 can't even handle their own power without breaking/warping the chassis. While the Z4 platform seems to be ok with its range of engines, I think 507hp might pop a few welds if driven spiritedly.
One thought - you always hear about Hartge and Hamann and and other tuners doing wild engine swaps on 20s with a 3" drop and 200 lbs of aero kit and wings, but you never hear how those cars are doing 10k or 15k miles down the road. Still blingin'?
LOL - 500 ponies, I can barely keep the wheels planted as it is!
But - I'd take another hundred
Well that settles that, then.
I guess I'm still enough of a n00b to believe almost anything.

500 horse power 3100lbs... sounds like a Z06... now where the hell is my gold chain.

Ill trade in my M Coupe for a V10
But Its not going to happen
If you look at JoeZ car in the engine swap forum you will see a Corvette engine installed in a Z3. Okay flame suit on.
