I have a 2001 z3 roadster
Originally my plans were to get the Roadster sound 8" sub enclosure for my car and spend a bit on my audio system..
My goals have now changed in regards to my car and now my focus is less on audio and more on performance.
Thats not to say i dont want to upgrade the PATHETIC stock stereo.lol
Now i already have a cd player, splits for the kick panels..
I do want some bass so my question is , how does a subwoofer sound in the trunk/boot..
It will be a 12"
this is a cheaper way for me to do things as i already own the stuff. as opposed to having to buy a new 8" woofer and box.
Also has anoyone mounted any shallow subs behind the seats or in passenger floor?
Thanks guys
ksc-sw1 for $150 installed in the passenger footwell
lost almost no footroom and i'm VERY pleased with teh sound
I've been wanting to try and put an elemental designs slim 10 behind the passenger seat in a roady for a while now. Someone should give it a shot.
Has any1 installed those smaller active subwoofers with built in amps..
They are very shallow.. Blaupankt and clarion have them..
they would be good behind the seats..
Not sure how good they would sound.
This is them:
Clarion SRV313: http://www.clarion.com/au/en/product...306870660.html
Blaupunkt THB200A: http://www.ryda.com.au/Blaupunkt-THB...-p/thb200a.htm
Im sure there are other similar ones out there.

Gianetto,
Many people have tried the sub in the trunk without success because of the segmentation between the trunk and cabin.
The only person I know that has succeded is Bailey here in Perth. It is ported into the cabin. Full custom job and not cheap. Even then he still had problems with vibration and water egress.
I will be following Joey V with the Clarion mounted under the glove box.
Trunk = bad choice... since we allready have a small trunk space, I tried putting in a 12" in the trunk it fits but just makes everything rattle...
You can try the Model 80.
No more BMW....
He's got the Kenwood.
I am thinking of doing the same Kenwood set-up in addition to the JL/M60 that I already have. Don't get me wrong, the JL/M60 is a good sub set-up and my installer was quite impressed with it. However, being used to those 12" subs I have in my E32 & E36, it's just not enough. I can go the M80 route but I prefer to have a stealthier system in a vert.

Apologies, yes the Kenwood.
I've heard good things about both, but if you like the big bass you may be disappointed.
To bad you dont have the coupe, you could have just changed out those 2 speakers in the roof for subs or better speakers...
Thats what im planning on doing...
