    Somebody else asked the same question I was thinking: WHY stretch the tires? Some of them actually look stupid.
    CSL headers & HJS race cats, Eisenmann LeMans exhaust, custom tuned, 19" BBS Air II Ck's, Wilwoods BBK, H&R sport springs, Koni sport shocks, UUC sway bars, Simota CAI......

    I think you're missing the point a little. Running stretched tires doesn't necessarily lower the car more but allows you to go lower and also allows you to run wider wheels. Looks best on e30's.

    We dont do it for performance value, we do it for clearance issues. The only way to run the widest wheels on our cars is to put a smaller tire on them to still keep the stance 1/2 way decent.

    Look at the pics of my car, do you think I could be that low with a 275?

    It looks to me like that rear wheel is turned on that Vdub? Maybe its just the way that the body tapers??

    I've always wondered. During extremely hard cornering, wouldn't most of these cars posted rub on the rear fenders? Some of them have the tires verrry close to the rear fenders when the car isn't even moving.

    Or is the suspension ridiculously stiff?

    actually no that's not it but i like that alot! What i was looking for was someone on vwvortex explained the history etc... and also recommended tires etc.. but he linked it on some "euro style" bfc thread.
