The computer (TCU) on my E32 750 is located behind the front passenger side kick panel. You have to remove the trim and then remove the hold down screws that protrude thru the metal inner fender area (the area behind the metal that supports the trim piece is hollow, dual walled) and the computer rests in the hollow cavity, two screws with nuts can be loosened to allow the TCU to be pushed upward, however a third screw must be removed to unbolt the TCU. After the trim is removed you can see the large electrical cable that runs from front of foot well up into the cavity.

On the E32 740 the trans module is in e-box under the hood along with DME and ABS modules.
