    what does bmw recommend about engine oil

    hi there
    i put mobil ! sync in the 318i mod 99 but i feel it is not that good
    so what is the best????

    there was a chart here somewhere in the forum and the best that i saw was royal purple, i haven't tried it yet, but look in to it.
    though i use mobil like many others have recomended

    OEM made by Castrol. I think its Lubri Molly? thats pretty good also

    sounds more like a cleaning detergent......i go with the castrol, but yea this is the #1 topic talked about, if you do a search it would be a lot easier....

    Sounds more like a cereal. Just add total and some milk to your engine, and feel the instant power..

    0-40 is the only Mobil 1 oil that I know of, which meets the BMW spec.

    Is 0-40 the same as straight 40?

    Can that some weight be used in the Royal Purple applications?

    I am not familiar with the term 'straight 40'.
