Emergency- Need E36 Clutch Alignment Tool/Advice

    Hi all,

I bought the new UUC Stage II LTW Flywheel and Sachs M5 clutch kit, but I just opened the box(es) and realized that I did not receive the clutch alignment tool with the clutch kit.

Does anyone in the Bay Area have a clutch alignment tool? Also, does anyone know if the tool is specific to the clutch kit, or is it a general BMW tool?

    Thanks!!

You should be able to use a more generic tool or even make one. There really isn't much to it. All you need is a dowel that has a shaft the same size as the teeth on the disc and a tip the same size as the inside of the pilot bearing. If is came down to it you could make one out of a wood dowel without too much difficulty.

FYI, usually the tool isn't included with a clutch kit. Even the real tool isn't super precise, there's always a little slop so a generic tool should work just as good.
