Only 1300 miles but no problems so far. Oil temperature gauge sits just high enough to burn impurities (moisture etc.) out of the oil. Don't have a water temp guage.

Ive got mine to like 250 once... But then again I was doing 12 hard 1/4 mile runs non stop. It stabilized down to 215 in like 10 secs once I stopped tho.

Thanks everyone for your personal experience. Me + cars + temp have NEVER been good pals.

So heres the question. Is buying the 335 worth it, as compared to the 328 ??? Is it THAT noticeable? I haven't tested either yet because I know myself and I'll just be a total sucker and buy it. Just want to really do my homework so I don't feel remourse after I buy it.

You must test drive them both....once you do...there will be no turning back on the 335 you WILL want and need it.

I think the only remorse you'll feel is in the payment

I guess things could go wrong with the turbos, seatbelt assist arm, etc. but it's a first year production car so those things are bound to happen. I've been looking into them as well...just looking so far....

Kristine....EXACTLY! Is that what happened to you? And I bet there will be more maintainence on the TT also huh?

RDD....(I like your picture) I agree and understand what your're saying. I am also holding out for the HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE in Spring. I love the way the convertible looks.

I will tell you this....I have been in love with this car ever since first seeing it in the BMW magazine. I had to try it out....waited to try it until I knew I wanted to get a new car. One short little ole test drive, and I was a goner. Love at first gas petal push....I have 1250 miles on her now and am still enjoying the honeymoon.
To me....yes, this car is THAT fine......

Kristine.....What color did you get and what options....Since its a turbo, is it safe to say its more fun to get the stick rather than auto???

I went with the Arctic Metallic, with the cream beige leather. I must say I love the combo with the dark burl. The color changes all the time. In bright light it looks silvery blue and on real cloudy days it is a deep grey. On the days with the fluffy clouds passing over, it has a silvery green hue.
One would think manual all the way...but you must test drive both transmission IMHO....I went with the step....and if you get the sports package you will get the paddles on the steering wheel, which I have read are quite fun. It really depends on what type of traffic you deal with on a daily basis....sometimes that stick gets old.
The options I went for are the premium, heated seats (which you may not need in SoCal), and the step. If doing it again...I would have taken the navigation and iDrive combo, but that is about it. I am too short for the sport seats...thus the no sports package.
IMHO you will be blown away when you test drive this beast!!!!! You will scream "where do I sign???"
    IMHO of course!!!!

Thats why I HAVE NOT test driven either cars yet, especially the 335i. So the BMW navigation system is an easy and good unit, similar to a Lexus? Anyone?....Oh, KRISTINE, I know that color and it is really nice. I think its the color they have on the BMW website right? Before they started selling the coupe.

I've heard the BMW nav is far behind Lexus/Honda/Acura so I wouldn't get your hopes up unfortunately. I don't have first hand experience myself but I know the nav in my 05 Accord is quite good and I take it for granted sometimes. The one in my MB is okay considering it's from an '01 model -- still light years behind the Honda one though.

Just remember if you get the Nav, you get the Idrive. I might have ordered the $2000 map were it not for that.

Are you talking about the $3000 or so boost to the 328 versus getting the 335i ? How much more HP?

I am talking about the XEDE piggyback system. It goes on the 335i and it is $1,300.

    Info here:

    http://www.vishnutuning.com/bmw_335i.htm

    Facts here:

    http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37494

Q: What is the practical HP gains without the custom exhaust-I'm not that interested in PEAK HP, more middle of the range HP...
A: On 94 octane, we've seen gains of 55-60whp and 70-80lbft of torque. At just 10-11psi. With no mods other than the Xede.

Q: What is the MPG while using the XEDE?
A: During normal driving, expect 1-2mpg improvement. If you're flogging the car hard, expect to get 3-4mpg less.

Q: Is the XEDE 100% undetectable by the dealership?
A: Yes, as long as the XEDE with all components are removed carefully and completely. The dealership can though notice a great change if they drive the car with the XEDE in play.

    335I Turbo BMW
Has anyone had a fuel pump issue on the 335I turbo model? We purchased a 2007 turbo in Jan, 2007. It has been in the shop for 7 weeks waiting for a new fuel pump....

    Has anyone had this problem?
