    Body Panel Question 1998 Z3

Hey everyone, new here. Girlfriend is picking up a Z3 and it has a dented driver side lower rocker panel. Its that panel that goes under the door from the rear of the front wheel to the front or the rear wheel.

Is this part replaceable or is it welded into the car itself? Is it simply a part that can bolt right off like a fender?

I tried posting a pic but since I am new I do not think it will let me.

Thanks and looking forward to being part of the BMW community.

I checked my Bentley manual and I believe it is a welded in part of the body. I also looked at my wife's 01 Z3 and it looked to be welded in. I'd not lay any money on it but I'm pretty sure a body shop would have to do the work rather a do it yourself job.

Welcome, yes the part can be unbolted and removed without much fanfare IIRC.

Part numbers here if it needs to be replaced:

Depending on the damage a good body shop may be cheaper.

Earlier this year my car had all body panels removed with the exception of the doors....it can all be removed/reinstalled with simple hand tools (and a spare set of hands for the hood).

I sent your girl an email but just wanted to give you a heads up that the rocker shipped earlier this week via UPS ground and should arrive on Friday. Things were super hectic around x-mas and I wasn't able to get it out before hand.

Just so you know you got a killer deal on this thing, between packaging materials and the actual shipment my costs were $63 and change...so you got this rocker for about $6....when I thought I was selling it for $40 + shipping doh!
