E39 1998 528i Won't Start - Nothing inside power's up either!!!

Hi,

I just bought the car 3 months ago. Last night after grocery shopping the car would not start. I remember that the lights came on for a split second until I tried to start the car and after that everything shutdown. No lights, No windows, No tilting stearing wheels, nothing....Even the keyless remote doesn't lock or unlock anything.

I called the local dealer and he thinks that a low battery could be the case? Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Any help would be appreciated.

open up the trunk and check if the battery leads have come loose

I tightened the terminals and the car started up just fine....

awesome! glad I could help - had the same thing happen to my 540i, they just come loose after a while.

ya i actually had that happen on friday too...nothing worked....and i just had to jiggle the terminals....really strange
