    Brake problems on 2006 E90 330i

I have a brand new BMW 330i E90 and the brakes are shocking. It feels like the pads are sticking to the discs and is really noticeable when stopping and taking off at lights. It's a real klunky jerking type of feeling. The dealer said it is a characteristic of the electric braking system, I find this hard to believe in a $100,000 car. Also the auto transmission feels clunky aswell, it doesnt shift nearly as smoothly as my earlier E46 330. Anyone else had similar issues?

100k E90?? Did you have those "Platinum Spinnas " installed while the shocks were being gold plated?

Take it to an empty parking lot and hold the brake while giving it gas so you can burn off some the pads.

If that doesnt help at all take it in to the dealership, sounds like it might be serious.

    Best of luck.

No, he is comparing a brand new low mileage car to a well broken in car that he is more used to.

The E90s are alittle twitchy when braking, this is by design. When the DSC sees you lift the throttle abruptly it preloads the pads to get them to touch the rotors, this way as soon as you touch the brake pedal you have brakes. This is for safety and to improve real world stoping distances.

Sorry, straying off topic... but, holy cow - 100k for a 3-series!! Wow - you gotta be doing really well down under to afford one of these. Not that everyone can afford one here in the US, but salaries in Australia seem to be lower than in the US if anything: http://www.payscale.com/research/AU/...grammer/Salary

Remember the old hydroboast brakes, it may just take getting used to. If problem still exsists ask if you can drive different e90. If different tell them to get a factory guy over there.

That's still US$78,000. I think that if you're not happy with the brakes or transmission you should take it back to the dealer.
