    Z4 Growing on anyone?

I couldn't afford a Z4 when I was looking; so I didn't want to drive one and get bummed-out. Purchased a Z3 2.5 and love it. Have seen comments about the dislike for styling; other than that, are there some pluses for this model like the correction to the subframe and differential integrity that may win you over. jackool

I hated the roadster design, but the new M Coupe has a menacing look that really works, and a go-kart sized steering wheel that I love. I'd definitely consider one of those used in the next few years.

yeah.. same here. the Z4 Coupe (M or non-M) is growing on me. But the roadster still doesn't do anything for me. in some ways, i'm glad they didn't call the Z4 the new Z3. that gives them the possibility to make a new Z3 that I wish would be more of a technology update and evolution of the Z3 styling. if it helps, the Z4 use to be painful to look at... it's become less painful as I've gotten use to seeing it around.

on the other hand, i'm starting to like the "updated" designs of the current generation of BMW models. The updated 7 series finally looks like something i wouldn't mind being seen in. The new 3-series coupe has some pretty lines. And I can tolerate the new 3-series sedan too, it isn't painful to look at. The current 5-series is still painful to look at. The 6-series is pretty from some angles and not so pretty from others; but the M touches on the M6 do help a LOT. It's like a strangely hot chic... sometimes she looks great, other times you just hope you're never in a position to have to compliment her on her looks.

They ruined a good thing when they came out with the z4
The z4 coupe is not half bad.

Frankly, I don't mind the looks of the Z4 Roadster but I prefer the looks of the Z4 Coupe. I don't mind having either one of those. But, of course, as far as the roady is concerned, the Z3 looks better than the Z4.

Z4 Roadster with a hardtop looks acceptable. They really blew it with that car. When the Z4 was announced, I expected a mini Z8, with that beautiful rear end. When I saw the Z4, I thought it was the ugliest car on the planet, I was so disappointed. But now that I've grown accustomed to the Z4, I like it a bit more. Not the interior, though, or at least the dash, the gauge cluster is a joke.

z4m coupe is too "subtle" But i love that engine.

I liked the z3 M coupe because it's insane. It's like a honda hatchback with a sports car hood, RWD, and a 3.2 M3 engine.

The z3 roadsters are pretty, but nothing made by BMW comes close to the Z8.

z4 roadster is just an ungodly kind of ugly. It's okay, I wouldn't mind driving one, but I would CERTAINLY not spend my money on any bmw post-e46. They just don't look like BMW's.

Ditto. I visited the dealership a couple of weeks ago to see if they had any M coupes in stock and I remembered standing outside squinting and kneeling at every possible angle to see if I liked it. Verdict is that I liked the rear end. Everything else, aesthetically went to the original Coupe.

I'm a big fan of the Z4 in both coupe and roadster form. While the front maybe is hit or miss, I love the trunk line of both cars. Living in England right now, so compared to Nova Scotia I see a lot of higher end cars on a daily basis, everyone here seems to drive a 911, e46 M3, etc... But on the way to school today after walking by 3 911's in a 15 minute jaunt, a Z4 M coupe went by. Really stands out. Has a lot of presence, especially in a place where you see 355's, 360's, gallardo's and such on a seemingly daily basis. So if one of the draws to the z3 M coupe was that it stood out and was unique, in my opinion the Z4 still has that. And sounds amazing lets be honest.

As far as styling goes, no the Z4 still sucks @ss. The Z4 coupe is lots nicer than the Z4 roadster, and lots nicer than a Z3 coupe....but e36/7 FTW!

Awww c'mon, Hugo, it ain't that bad that it's uglier than an Aztek. I think the Lexus SC430 deserves that spot more than the Z4 roady.

It would be bearable to live with an Z4M coupe/roadster just because of the engine/performance. I would not buy one with my own money even if I could afford one. If I was in the market, I would pay more and get a Cayman. But I want a MCS.
    Stay in school...fishes do.
