im just wondering if this a good deal? its a one owner car and clean title. Never had a bmw before and dont know much about pricing. Thanks
I just bought a 99 528i with about the same miles for that price. I felt it was a reasonable deal. After bringing it home I realized it needed the following; windshield trim, rear window regulator and it has the shake at 60mph. Very common stuff with these cars. Be shure and look over the car thoroughly. I am still happy with the deal because the blue book is around 12K and I really wanted the options this car had.
Good luck
what are the major things that i need to look at? Also when does the timing belt need to be changed? Thanks for the info!
thats a decent price...I'd buy it.
BMWCCA #389756
e39 Touring SOLD.
Thank god for timing chains!
I am a total newb here, but I suggest reading all of the first three PARKED threads on this forum. So helpful.
1. carfax (you can't rely solely on these reports)
2. dmv record
3. ppi if you can (at about $100.00)
If you can't hire a ppi, do a thorough inspection on the
followings.
1. cooling system (radiator, expansion tank, hoses, etc.) ***
2. power steering reservoir and hoses (look for ATF leaks)
3. tranny (look for any faults in shifting, noises, etc.)
4. shocks (look for any shakes, noises etc)
5. electrical devices
plus anything you can think of when buying a used car.
thank you very much.
Prepurchase inspection.
Just buy it and slap an S52 in there.
