My OBC is telling me to check my coolant level but there is no prob??

My OBC says check coolant level. So i did, and it is fine.

What could be the problem here?

the coolant level sensor is known to go bad in the e36 m3's.

My sensor did that, and now my car just eats up coolant.

I fill it up, make a 15 minute drive, open my hood up to reveal an empty coolant tank. Strange thing is that there are no spots under my car so I don't know if it's a leak or not.

Remember you have to check it when the car is cool. If you check it right after you get out, the level will appear much higher than it actually is.

thanks, but it was cooled down when i checked it. Where is the coolant level sensor located? I am thinking that may be it if they are known to go bad

The sensor is in the bottom of the coolant reservoir. You have to remove the fan shroud, disconnect the wire connector from the sensor, unscrew the retaining ring and pull out the sensor. Installation is the reverse, then top off and bleed the cooling system.

Ducky, what did you find out about your coolant disappearance?
Hope it isn't the head gasket like I suggested.
