Ok, I need to replace the brake pads on my UUC SSBC BBK and I cant seem to find any info anywhere. I emailed Rob at UUC but I need to find an answer quick because I have to buy these pads before the weekend. I think it uses pads from a Mitsu 3000 GT but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm this?
On a side note, please recommend some street/track pads that do not squeal and create a lot of brake dust. Thanks.

I have no idea as to what pads you need for that BBK, but I may be able to shed a bit of light on the second part of the question. You can have a street pad that is low dust and quiet or you can have a track pad that makes lots of dust and is noisy, but you can't have both sets of characteristics in the same pad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks for the feedback, Jim.

Call Rob directly, I'm sure you'll get a quick answer.
If you end up getting track pads, I have a great source for them, contact me via PM.

If they are available, consider the Carbotech pads (XP10 or XP8 maybe). They make lots of dust and squeak a little, but the dust comes right off. They have enough cold braking powe for the street -- you can activate the ABS on stone cold brakes if you press hard enough. The XP10 is definitely a trackworthy pad.
That said, you may be looking for a more compromise pad. I think the Porterfields are often recommended for this, but I have no personal experience. They will not be ideal for either application (street or track).
For super low dust pads, the Metal Masters are often recommended, but I know of at least one picture of them on fire at the track, so I'm not sure I'd run them there, at least not on R-compounds and/or in fast run groups.
You may have less choice with a BBK, of course.
they take pads from a 3000GT.
SSBC-based kits use pads with the FMSI# D531. Cross-references to late-'90s Mitsu 3000GT VR4. VR4 is critical, that's the top-line AWD Twin Turbo with the unique brake pads.
We're blowing out remaining inventory of Hawk HP-Plus in the D531 fitment at $50 per axle set - price good while supply lasts.
