I'm looking to get a 325is (most likely 89 or 90) to set up as a trackable daily driver. Any ideas on how I should tune the suspension and drivetrain and what tunners to use for specific components (money is an issue but I want the best and will wait until I have the cash if it is worth it).
More specifically what mods are most important to start (Let's start w/ a $10k budget for car and parts)? Things like control arms, bushings, engine mods, etc.
In other words what would you do if you had to 10k to spend on an e30 (non ///M)???

Here's what I did when I bought my project/track car:
timing belt
radiator flush
water pump
check fan clutch
belts
change hoses
oil change
tranny fluid change
diff. fluid change
suspension bushings
fuel pump
fuel filter
tranny mounts
check driveshaft flex disc (guibo)
motor mounts
check wheel bearings
check tie rod and control arm for play
slotted rotors
stainless brake lines
bleed brakes
brake pads

As far as suspension setup, if it's in your budget, get a full
suspension kit: springs, shocks, sways, and camber plates.
Ground Control has some good setups. Since you'll be
driving it at the track, height adjustment and shock rate
adjustment are highly advised.
Can you also post a guess as to what it will cost to have these things done so I know what I'm getting into.

go to www.the-best-source.com or www.alloembmwparts.com they should give u pretty good prices for those replacement parts.
for performance parts u can try:
www.bavauto.com
www.bmw2002.com (Ireland Engineering)
www.bmpdesign.com
www.turnermotorsports.com
www.racetep.com (they have some pretty good deals on performance engine parts)
suspension techniques (for swaybars)
i have an excel spreadsheet/list of performance mods (w/ their prices) that i'm working on. i'm actually looking to do the same thing u are, unless i decide to turbo my 320i (i have a working list of that too).
www.bimmer.com - Maximillian Imports is also a great place for cheap parts. Plus their service has always been excellent in my experience.
traqrat, that's a very good list!
