BMWs in general handle snow decently with the right setup. My old E36 M3 was great in the snow with the proper snow tires. Z4M should be really no different... despite it has a bit more peppy of an engine so you have to be more mindful of your right foot.
Agreed... good snow tires are a must for cold temps and snow. Sadly in the picture above was 2 weeks into my ownership I had no time to get winter tires and this was my only means at that time to get to work... so I was forced to avoid rush hours and driver carefully on the stock conti's. Would never recommend that to anyone else... really I mean it. I was extremely cautious and took it slow (no radio... just me and the car talking to each other and being aware of other remaining people on the road).
Potholes suck in all sports cars, but the Z4M isn't "undriveable" with pot holes. I've driven in Baltimore many times with buddies (which is like pothole city) and manage just fine it I watch my speed and the road in front of me.
The most dangerous thing is the front bumper on curbs when parking. The Z4 has such a long front end that first time drivers seem to be prone to smashing the front splitters into a curb unintentionally.

Great shots of your roadster - they remind me I need to get mine detailed.
You had your entire life to prepare for today.
Thanks to all of you that responded to my questions last week. Here is what I ended up with.

I've posted a few times in here, but never pics. All stock, nothing fancy, but I love it! First car I've had where I've gotten to the two year point (or close anyways) without getting the itch to sell.
few recents:
