Is it possible to repair bend rims yourself?

I have a couple of contour rims that have a slight bend on the front lip.

Has anyone ever tried to fix these rims themselves? I know that they can easily crack.
But if the bend is very small, i was thinking of using a blow torch to heat up the back of the rim and then hammer it through a 2x4.. anyone ever try this?

I wouldn't try. It could possibly compromise structural integrity, these things are your only point of contact with the road...

If it is the inside lip... yes somewhat.

Outside... no. Pay to have it done.

Yes! I've done it many times. Get a really big rubber mallet and you can fix them yourself. It is somewhat time consuming since it may take 30 min or so of repeated banging with the mallet to correct a small bend.

should you heat them up first to make them more pliable?

No heat! Heat will make them more likely to bend or crack again.
