11 to 18 Button OBC conversion

Is there any way to upgrade my 11 button OBC to an 18? If so, would it be a simply plug-and-play installation or will a rewire be necessary? Lastly, anybody know the best place to get an 18 other than ebay?

There are a lot of parted out cars for sale on the forum that would prolly be able to hook you up with an 18 button OBC. Anything about the install I know not.

There was a big thread on this before with a huge DIY. It looked like a PITA though. But do a search, its out there.

Honestly I've searched my ass off and I can't find what I'm looking for, otherwise I wouldn't have posted this thread. If anybody knows where to find it then please let me know.

Reading the DIY probably takes longer than the install

Yes, and I know people who have even substituted an OBC for an analog clock!

Hi.. old thread.. I just have to braaag (right word?) a little..

7 -> 18 button OBC, work about 1 hour (easy job)

And, i think i'm almost the only one in the f-cking world that has retrofitted Check Control.

Yepp.. my car had 7 button OBC from factory, no Check Control.

Now it has 18 button, fully functional Check Control also.

Retrofit the Check Control is about 1 day work and 40 meters of cable, and a few sensors. No big deal actually.

So.. it can definitly be done.. and not that hard. I did mine in januray in sweden, out in the parking.. it was a bit cold.. :P But, I got it done and working.

You don't even have to buy CC rear clusters, just cut the jumper between the taillights, solder a cable to it - and bam - check control rear clusters. easy, then just a few cables to the cc module.

Parts I bought for CC retrofit (if someone wonders)

    -Check Control Module (CM)
-Sensor for coolant and washer fluid
    -Wire.. wire.. and wire..

    That's all..

Questions about check control? PM ..

CC module in a flat sedan

    Hi there!

I've some questions about your cc modul retrofit.

so my car had only the analog clock, now i retrofitted the 18 buttons OBC. It works very well since about 1.5 years. but now i decided to retrofit the cc modul for my obc.

    so.. how to do that?

    i have:

    -modul
    -connections (both of two)
    -wire...wire...wire...
    -sensors

i have sedan, from 97 with factory analog clok. but anyway, here's my vin AN26292.

    thanks for a lot!
