Any try to drain oil on E30 M40 engine with standard suspension without any jack ?

This is my E30 and there is enough space to put some shallow dish and oil sump is enough close to remove screw plug easy.

It sucks all of the oil out, no messing around with ramps. With the filter on top, it makes the BMW the easiest car to do an oil change.

I've used it and then opened the drain to test and pretty much nothing comes out.

What Bob said. I use a similar pump: $50 Topsider fluid pump

Not the same a removing the plug. All that crap on the bottom of the pan just sits there.

That is old style way of thinking, I was thinking the same way till I have seen how it work. Many newer engines even do not have an oil plug and no more oil dipstick, just an oil level sensor.
There is very rarely any significant sediment in the bottom of the sump.
A oil pump pickup usually only has a large-mesh screen on it to keep any big pieces of junk from getting into the oil pump; anything finer gets sucked up and (hopefully) captured by the oil filter.
Today's motor oil additive packages have components that are designed to try to keep fine particles in suspension for this reason.
If there is any crap at all sitting on the bottom of your oil pan, your engine already needs significant work.
